Give yourself a little dose of creative joy and meditative focus with this Geometric Art class.
Each class in the series will include hints on where to look for inspiration, technical advice on how to use tools to create precise designs, and a packet of design templates if you’d rather just trace and color. When math is necessary, you will get resources that do the math for you, if you prefer. Additionally, in each class, you’ll learn an easy meditative doodle to help you calm and center yourself any time, anywhere. Since we’ll be working in watercolor, you’ll also get tips for successfully working with watercolor paint.
THIS CLASS: PARABOLIC CURVES
In this class, we’ll learn a simple but fascinating mathematical illusion that will open up a world of design possibilities: parabolic curves. We’ll also learn strategies for successfully creating watercolor paintings with lots of layers.
- Supplies:
- Tracing paper
- Hard or medium Pencil (ex: 1-4H or 1-2 HB) this includes ordinary school pencils
- Soft pencil (ex: 6B)
- ruler
- Watercolor brush–round, angled, oval or flat size 6 -10
- Watercolor paint of any kind
- Watercolor paper (block, pad or loose sheets) in your preferred size
- Optional, but helpful: Lightbox
