Meditative Geometric Watercolor Series: Ovals taught by Jinjer Markley

All levels- students 12 and up are welcome in this class
Give yourself a little dose of creative joy and meditative focus with this Geometric Art class.
Each class in the series will include hints on where to look for inspiration, technical advice on how to use tools to create precise designs, and a packet of design templates if you’d rather just trace and color. When math is necessary, you will get resources that do the math for you, if you prefer. Additionally, in each class, you’ll learn an easy meditative doodle to help you calm and center yourself any time, anywhere. Since we’ll be working in watercolor, you’ll also get tips for successfully working with watercolor paint.
THIS CLASS: OVALS
In this class, we will learn a satisfying hands-on method for drawing perfect ovals in a custom size, and use them to create a beautiful frame. We’ll also work on brush skills for drawing and lettering.
Supplies:
2 pushpins
Cardboard or corkboard for pushing pins into
Sturdy, non-stretchy, heavy thread, such as embroidery thread. Do not substitute yarn.
Pencil
Ruler
Watercolor paper
Small round brush–size 3-5
Watercolor of any kind
Xacto knife, or similar, plus a suitable cutting surface.
