Getting Started: Gouache Painting taught by Liz Carlson
February 10, 2024 @ 10:30 am – 12:30 pm
VIRTUAL CLASS
You’ve seen the word gouache and maybe you’ve bought some. Let’s use it now!
Gouache is a favorite painting medium for sketching , travel and plein air as well as finished works. If you like water based paints it’s time to add gouache to your practice.
With a few simple materials Liz will get you started with practical techniques that will inspire and inform your painting style. It’s easy to start a daily practice and this class is designed to help you get motivated!

Supply List:
Gouache(traditional-NOT acrylic): One Color of your choice plus white. These can be tubed (I like Holbein or Schmincke) or pans (Stoneground paint Co.) Either will work
Brushes: Princeton Snap Rounds 0, 2, 4 or Princeton Select Pointed Filberts 2 and 4. These are some of my favorite sketching brush shapes and sizes.
Paper: You can use a watercolor sketchbook or scraps of watercolor paper, I like 140lb cold press. I’ll likely be using Fluid EZ cold press.
Misc: 2H or HB pencil or mechanical pencil, Kneaded eraser, White vinyl eraser (I like Factis (orange wrapper)), Paper towels, Two or three jars for water
Ticket Instruction: You must choose a quantity to activate “get tickets”. To pay for a class registration with a Wet Paint gift card, please call 651-698-6431
