Collage & Watercolor Birds, Bugs and Mushrooms taught by Molly Anthony
September 11 @ 10:00 am – 1:00 pm
IN PERSON
Nature is such a great source of inspiration for our art, but so often I see people get stuck because what they created “doesn’t really exist in nature.” So, we are going to investigate the worlds of birds, bugs and mushrooms because they all have such incredible examples of colors, patterns and designs that seem like something from a Dr. Seuss book, but actually exist out in the world. We are not aiming to perfectly recreate these things, but instead, use them as a starting point to turn our creativity loose. And we’re going to use collage and watercolors for this exploration because each medium provides an opportunity to embrace creative imperfection in its own unique way.

Supplies to bring:
- A sketchbook or art journal with blank pages (you can also bring a junk journal, but you’ll want something with blank pages too).
- A set of watercolors and a brush
- Scissors
- Your favorite adhesive
Some shared collage materials, glue sticks and watercolors will be available for use in class. Also, if you have any favorite reference materials for birds, bugs or mushrooms, please bring them along (I’ll also have materials available in class).
Classes have a limited space available and some fill quickly. Decisions about whether to cancel a class or add another session are typically made one week prior to the start of a class. If a class you are interested in is full we will have a waiting list and will contact you if a space opens up. If a class is cancelled due to low enrollment (fewer than 4 registrations) all registrations will be promptly refunded.
Ticket Instruction: You must choose a quantity to activate “get tickets”. To pay for a class registration with a Wet Paint gift card, please call 651-698-6431

Molly Anthony is a writer and mixed-media artist and is also the co-facilitator for the MN Visual Journal Collective (a free monthly group for artists of all mediums hosted by Wet Paint). She loves exploring art in all forms and sharing her ideas with others, but through the pandemic and family struggles she learned the importance of using those practices for self-care. In her work and her teachings, she strives to embrace imperfection, focuses on process over product and is constantly looking for new ways to be curious about the world around her. You can find her artwork on Instagram at @mkranthony and on her website TheFoundArtWalk.com.
