Using Tape in our Art Journals taught by Molly Anthony
September 21, 2025 @ 10:00 am – 1:00 pm
IN PERSON CLASS
Washi tape is a beautiful decorative tape that is available in a plethora of colors and designs. It’s a fun and simple to way to add a pop of color to our art journal pages or adhere elements to the page with an added bit of flair. But it is also one of those supplies that we love to collect then seldom use. Not anymore! We’ll talk about fun and easy ways to use washi tape in our art journals that will inspire you to pull out your stash and start using those rolls. In addition to washi tape, we’ll also talk about ways to make our own decorative tape using masking tape and how to do image transfers with only packing tape and magazine images.

Supplies to bring:
- Art journal or sketchbook
- A selection of washi tape
- Masking tape
- Clear packing tape and/or clear Contact Paper
- A selection of magazine images to use for transfers (or a stack of magazines to cut up)
Some shared supplies will be available for use in class.
Classes have a limited space available and some fill quickly. Decisions about whether to cancel a class or add another session are typically made one week prior to the start of a class. If a class you are interested in is full we will have a waiting list and will contact you if a space opens up. If a class is cancelled due to low enrollment (fewer than 4 registrations) all registrations will be promptly refunded.
Ticket Instruction: You must choose a quantity to activate “get tickets”. To pay for a class registration with a Wet Paint gift card, please call 651-698-6431

Molly Anthony is a writer and mixed-media artist and is also the co-facilitator for the MN Visual Journal Collective (a free monthly group for artists of all mediums hosted by Wet Paint). She loves exploring art in all forms and sharing her ideas with others, but through the pandemic and family struggles she learned the importance of using those practices for self-care. In her work and her teachings, she strives to embrace imperfection, focuses on process over product and is constantly looking for new ways to be curious about the world around her. You can find her artwork on Instagram at @mkranthony and on her website TheFoundArtWalk.com.
