Toned Sketchbook: Rediscovering Your Materials taught by Liz Carlson(multi-session)

Via Zoom Thursdays, August 6, 13 and 20, from 6:00-7:30pm Central TimeVIRTUAL CLASS
Does a blank white page seem daunting? Have you tried Toned paper?! In this class you get sketching prompts, hone your multimedia skills and find out how working on toned paper can refresh your material usage and inspiration. We’ll cover a variety of themes and techniques, there’s something for everyone. Plus, homework to keep you motivated. This class is for all levels, some drawing experience is helpful.



SUPPLIES:
TONED PAPER SKETCHBOOK: Make sure you have room to play! Stillman & Birn Nova: Beige or Gray (I will be using the Beige, in the 8×10). Hahnemuhle: Cappuccino or Toned Watercolor
WEEK ONE will be markers and pencils: Waterproof pens such as Uni-ball Vision, Pigma Micron Drawing or layout pencils 2H, HB, 6B, white colored pencil, Pablo (wax based) or Holbein (oil based) Erasers: soft vinyl, kneaded, black Factis Markers: Pitt Brush, Zig Brush, Micron Brush and/or Crayola Super tips
Masking tape or washi for clean edges Clear ruler White Posca marker fine or extra fine
WEEK TWO will be Neocolor II’s Neocolor II Water-soluble wax pastels, a small set or handful of favorite colors, white may be useful
WEEK THREE will be gouache Gouache (opaque watercolor) pans or tubes, primary or mixing colors or your favorite colors plus white
Any other materials you’re into!
Classes have a limited space available and some fill quickly. Decisions about whether to cancel a class or add another session are typically made one week prior to the start of a class. If a class you are interested in is full we will have a waiting list and will contact you if a space opens up. If a class is cancelled due to low enrollment (fewer than 4 registrations) all registrations will be promptly refunded.
