Join Liz for the first of a new series of classes in 2026, Spectrum Sketchbook:Watercolor Pencils! Each week we will focus on a part of the color spectrum and practice color mixing, rendering depth and their compliments.  Sketch, paint and master techniques while working from a variety of subject matter. Fill pages of your favorite watercolor sketchbook, the perfect format for exploration. Inspiration images are available for in class work. Homework is part of this class, access to Pinterest will be useful. The supply list is flexible for a multitude of budgets.

SUPPLY LIST: All class materials are available for purchase from our store Wet Paint Artists’ Materials. We are open 10-6pm daily at 1684 Grand Avenue in St. Paul, MN or online at www.wetpaintart.com.

Note about Watercolor Pencils, They come in a range of quality and colors. Often you get what you pay for with this particular media. I’ll be teaching using the line Museum Aquarelle by Caran d’Ache. These are excellent. I have listed below options that will give you a lovely outcome to your pages. They make a 12 set (the smallest option) that is very useful, if you have that already you are good to go. However, I put together a thoughtful range of 16 colors that also mixes well, varies from the 12 set and allows you to expand with individual colors if you wish. Color swatch images of the 12 set and “my selections” are included here so you can make the best decision for your budget. You can start with the 6 primaries and go from there or see how far you get with 6 colors!

If you have another brand of watercolor pencils please match corresponding colors and join us for a great time!
