IN PERSON

Noticing is perhaps the most powerful tool in our artistic toolkit. It is also perhaps one of the hardest to employ because it requires us to slow down and pay attention. In a world where our attention is a valuable commodity, there are a lot of people/places/devices fighting for it. But for three hours, we are going to say NO to all these distractions, learn how to slow down, and find ways to both record the interesting things we discover through this process, but also how to use them in our art and creative process. We’ll pull inspiration from the natural world, overlooked treasures we see every day and some other sources we may have never considered.

Please bring a sketchbook or art journal, a drawing pen and something to add color (watercolors, markers, and/or colored pencils) to class. Some shared supplies will be available for use in class.

Classes have a limited space available and some fill quickly. Decisions about whether to cancel a class or add another session are typically made one week prior to the start of a class. If a class you are interested in is full we will have a waiting list and will contact you if a space opens up. If a class is cancelled due to low enrollment (fewer than 4 registrations) all registrations will be promptly refunded.

Ticket Instruction: You must choose a quantity to activate “get tickets”. To pay for a class registration with a Wet Paint gift card, please call 651-698-6431

Molly Anthony is a writer and mixed-media artist and is also the co-facilitator for the MN Visual Journal Collective (a free monthly group for artists of all mediums hosted by Wet Paint). She loves exploring art in all forms and sharing her ideas with others, but through the pandemic and family struggles she learned the importance of using those practices for self-care. In her work and her teachings, she strives to embrace imperfection, focuses on process over product and is constantly looking for new ways to be curious about the world around her. You can find her artwork on Instagram at @mkranthony and on her website TheFoundArtWalk.com.
