Neocolor II Mastery: Wayne Thiebaud Sardines 1962 taught by Liz Carlson

July 11 @ 10:00 am 1:00 pm

$48.00

IN PERSON

Join Liz in person at Wet Paint for the next installment of Neocolor II Mastery, featuring Wayne Thiebaud’s Sardines, 1962. Neocolor II is a super approachable, versatile medium you can draw and paint with! With guided steps and some layering techniques you recreate the beautiful Sardines oil painting. Transfer illustration included, all levels welcome.

Supply List:

PAPER: I’d recommend Stonehenge multimedia paper. I will be using white for this project, approximately 11×14 if you’d like a border, we’ll be working close to the painting’s actual size of 12 1/4 x 9 1/2. You’ll want some extra scrap for testing colors and practice/warming up. A transfer illustration will be included. We will have time to do the transfer at the beginning of class.

COLORS: 15 color set of Neocolor 2 water-soluble wax pastels -or the equivalent singles sticks. (Liz calls them crayons)  Plus any additional colors you like!

OPTIONAL SUPPLIES: Caran d’ache Fix crayon holder (optional/ expensive but worth the cost), Caran d’ache plastic palette/or a sanded piece of plastic for a palette. Availability may vary, in lieu of this palette a sheet of plastic lightly sanded will work!

BRUSHES: Princeton Snap brushes, short handled synthetics or similar. Rounds 2,4,6,or 8. and Filbert 8

EXTRAS: Pencil or graphite stick (soft lead 6B or softer), Kneaded eraser, Painters tape if you’d like an edge around your art (I use the light purple delicate surface tape on a variety of papers with no issues), Ball point pen for transfer (I like a bright color so I can see my linework)

Classes have a limited space available and some fill quickly. Decisions about whether to cancel a class or add another session are typically made one week prior to the start of a class. If a class you are interested in is full we will have a waiting list and will contact you if a space opens up. If a class is cancelled due to low enrollment (fewer than 4 registrations) all registrations will be promptly refunded.

Ticket Instruction: You must choose a quantity to activate “get tickets”. To pay for a class registration with a Wet Paint gift card, please call 651-698-6431
