Neocolor II Mastery: Gustav Klimt Edition taught by Liz Carlson

Join Liz in a new Neocolor II Mastery Class, recreating one of the last known Gustav Klimt masterpieces, Lady With Fan, 1917-1918. This work was still on the easel at the time of Klimt’s passing so it will be up to us to embellish this piece with gold leaf as we see fit!
Grab some Neocolors and get ready for a morning of color and creative exploration. New to Neocolors? You’ll find the versatility of this medium welcoming as it’s pretty perfect for both drawing and painting!
No drawing required, transfer illustration included.
Using a favorite medium, Caran d’Ache Neocolor II Water-Soluble Wax Pastels we will explore how this artist represented and rendered their subjects.
Included in your fee:
Your fee includes 1/2 sheet of Stonehenge cut to 12×12 plus scraps, a printed transfer drawing, shared use of Imitation Gold leaf + leaf adhesive.
Supply List to bring:
15 color set of Neocolor II water-soluble wax pastels -or the equivalent singles sticks. (Liz calls crayons) The photo above shows some suggested optional pastel colors that will work well with the image.
Optional: Caran d’ache Fix crayon holder (optional/ expensive but worth the cost), Caran d’ache plastic palette/or a sanded piece of plastic for a palette.
Brushes: Princeton Snap short handled synthetics or similar. Rounds #2, #4, #6 or #8, Filbert #8
Extras: Pencil, Kneaded eraser, Painters tape if you’d like an edge around your art. I use the Delicate Surface Tape (light purple) on a variety of papers with no issues.
Classes have a limited space available and some fill quickly. Decisions about whether to cancel a class or add another session are typically made one week prior to the start of a class. If a class you are interested in is full we will have a waiting list and will contact you if a space opens up. If a class is cancelled due to low enrollment (fewer than 4 registrations) all registrations will be promptly refunded.
