IN PERSON

The end of summer and beginning of fall is the perfect time to gather fall leaves, plants and grasses and use them to make prints with! Learn how to use the found materials to create your own artwork. Techniques will be demonstrated and all materials will be provided. Non-toxic water based Speedball inks will be used.

Diana Joanne Eicher, received her MFA in Printmaking from the University of Hawaii, and her BA in Painting from the University of California, Santa Cruz. Diana studied painting in Italian at the Accademia di Belle Arti, in Venice, Italy and aluminum plate lithography at Tamarind Institute. Diana is the Director of the Printmaking and Papermaking Studios at the Minneapolis College of Art and Design, and oversees with the studios for books, intaglio, letterpress, lithography, papermaking, photogravure, screenprinting, and woodcut. Eicher has taught at the Honolulu Printmaking Workshop, the Minnesota Center for Book Arts, the Minneapolis College of Art and Design, the Minneapolis Community and Technical College, The Ox-Bow School of Art: School of the Art Institute of Chicago, the Textile Center of Minnesota, and the University of Hawaii. Diana has been a teaching artist for Speedball Art Products and Akua Printmaking Inks. Diana had a solo show of her work, “To Shanghai: Recent Work by Diana Eicher” at Donghua University in Shanghai, China that included 70 works of art. Her most current project is a “Glossary of Printmaking Terms in English and Chinese” that took her 10 years to write and was published by Donghua University Press, Shanghai, China. Eicher has presented 12 papers, lectures, and exhibitions, in the United States and internationally and has exhibited her work in over 98 group and solo exhibitions.
