IN PERSON CLASS
Wet Paint offers a series of simple, open ended art classes designed for children 2-6 years old with adult taught by early childhood art specialist, Ellen Ferrari. Each class will focus on one art making process. Ellen will use examples of artwork by iconic artists to make connections to professional artists who use these processes and introduce basic concepts, materials and terms. All materials provided (real artists’ paper, ink, paints and tools!) for several projects in each class.
This Class: Portraits
Suzanne Duchamp, Jim Denomie, Mickalene Thomas, Stuart Davis – view portraits by these and other painters. Play a portrait painting game. Use paints, brushes and papers to work on brushstrokes, color mixing and gradations. Try a self portrait. Try an abstract portrait. Try a bigger than life portrait.
Must have one adult attending class with every child. Thanks!
