Kids Create!: Gyotaku (Japanese Fish Printing)for Ages 2-6 w/Adult (afternoon) taught by Ellen Ferrari
November 7, 2025 @ 12:00 pm – 1:00 pm
IN PERSON- FRIDAY, November 7th
Wet Paint offers a series of simple, open ended art classes designed for children 2-6 years old with adult taught by early childhood art specialist, Ellen Ferrari. Each class will focus on one art making process. Ellen will use examples of artwork by iconic artists to make connections to professional artists who use these processes and introduce basic concepts, materials and terms. All materials provided (real artists’ paper, ink, paints and tools!) for several projects in each class.
This Class: Gyotaku- Japanese Fish Printing
Get hooked on Gyotaku – Japanese fish printing. View the art of Joe Higgins, Doug Olander, and the children of Bristol Bay, Alaska and Japan. Then use newsprint, construction and tissue papers, water and brushes, and a wide variety of rubber fish – from small drum to large walleye – to print your own Gyotaku.
Must have one adult attending class with every child. Thanks!

Classes have a limited space available and some fill quickly. Decisions about whether to cancel a class or add another session are typically made one week prior to the start of a class. If a class you are interested in is full we will have a waiting list and will contact you if a space opens up. If a class is cancelled due to low enrollment (fewer than 4 registrations) all registrations will be promptly refunded.
Ticket Instruction: You must choose a quantity to activate “get tickets”. To pay for a class registration with a Wet Paint gift card, please call 651-698-6431
