Introduction to Art Journaling taught by Molly Anthony

February 17, 2023 @ 10:00 am 1:00 pm

$50.00 Includes some shared supplies

IN PERSON CLASS

An art (or visual) journal is a creative space to collect ideas, record observations and experiment with supplies. It is a safe place to express ourselves and just have fun and play. These journals can begin as sketchbooks, notebooks or even an old book and then be filled with paint, collage, sketches, words or anything else you can dream of. The possibilities for art journaling are endless and can be a bit overwhelming, but you only need a few basic supplies to get started. In this class, we’ll discuss how to choose your journal, ways to prepare your pages, and we’ll play with a variety of supplies.

You will only need to bring a journal (any kind will do – sketchbook, notebook, or an old book), all other supplies will be provided.

Please wear masks during in-person classes at Wet Paint. If you are having any COVID or cold-like symptoms even if you have been vaccinated, please do not come to the class. Thanks!

Molly Anthony is a writer and mixed-media artist and is also the co-facilitator for the MN Visual Journal Collective (a free monthly group for artists of all mediums hosted by Wet Paint). She loves exploring art in all forms and sharing her ideas with others, but through the pandemic and family struggles she learned the importance of using those practices for self-care. In her work and her teachings, she strives to embrace imperfection, focuses on process over product and is constantly looking for new ways to be curious about the world around her. You can find her artwork on Instagram at @mkranthony and on her website TheFoundArtWalk.com.
