Art Journaling as a Self Care Practice taught by Molly Anthony
November 6 @ 10:00 am – 1:00 pm
IN PERSON CLASS
Do you love to play with your art supplies, but rarely get the chance because other commitments and expectations consume all your time? And when you finally do get a chance to sit down do guilt, fear and your inner critic prevent you from creating anything at all? You are not alone. In this class, you will grant yourself permission to play, abandon perfectionism and give yourself the gift of time to simply enjoy the act of creating. Topics will include messy painted pages, using collage as a means to bring creation from destruction and slow, mindful drawing practices to add beauty and meaning to our pages all while we give our brains a much-needed break. We will learn how to work creativity into our daily lives and will discuss ways art can be helpful to your mental health care routine (please note, this class is not art therapy and does not replace the care of a mental health professional).

Please bring a sketchbook or blank book to class, all other supplies will be provided.
Classes have a limited space available and some fill quickly. Decisions about whether to cancel a class or add another session are typically made one week prior to the start of a class. If a class you are interested in is full we will have a waiting list and will contact you if a space opens up. If a class is cancelled due to low enrollment (fewer than 4 registrations) all registrations will be promptly refunded.
Ticket Instruction: You must choose a quantity to activate “get tickets”. To pay for a class registration with a Wet Paint gift card, please call 651-698-6431

Molly Anthony is a writer and mixed-media artist and is also the co-facilitator for the MN Visual Journal Collective (a free monthly group for artists of all mediums hosted by Wet Paint). She loves exploring art in all forms and sharing her ideas with others, but through the pandemic and family struggles she learned the importance of using those practices for self-care. In her work and her teachings, she strives to embrace imperfection, focuses on process over product and is constantly looking for new ways to be curious about the world around her. You can find her artwork on Instagram at @mkranthony and on her website TheFoundArtWalk.com.
