Transforming Artist’s Block: Art is Problem Solving taught by Jinjer Markley
November 17, 2020 @ 11:00 am – 12:30 pm CST
Tuesday, November 17th 11-12:30 Central Time Fee: $24
#6 of a 6 part series meets every other week. In-class drawing time and homework assigned.
If you are ever scared to approach that blank page with a pencil, pen or watercolor brush, then this class will help you transform your outlook. By approaching art as a series of problems to solve, artist’s block becomes an opportunity to become your most authentic artistic self. In each class, we will review common problems you might encounter, peek into the strategies various artists have used to overcome those problems, practice a problem solving mindset by tackling a short assignment designed to get you thinking outside the box, and support each other by sharing our problems and solutions. Although different classes focus on different media, all of them take a holistic approach to art as problem solving, going way beyond technical problems, and would be relevant to artists in any media where drawing is the foundation of an artwork.
