Shibori (Indigo + Kakishibu) Napkins Project taught by Jean Manrique

June 1 @ 2:00 pm 5:00 pm

$60.00 Includes 4 napkins and all supplies

IN PERSON CLASS

Shibori is an ancient Japanese technique that uses various resists  (stitches, clamping, binding, etc.)to prevent the indigo and kakishibu dyes from penetrating the fabric or paper, producing white designs on a blue background. Shibori was the method used to create surface patterns on cloth before printing was discovered.

In our class we’ll be using some of these techniques on folded cotton napkins and then dipping our pieces into an indigo vat.
