Playful Collage Architecture taught by Molly Anthony

November 13 @ 10:00 am 1:00 pm

$50.00

IN PERSON

Do you find yourself admiring different architectural forms but don’t use them in your own creative work for the fear of doing it “wrong” or not being able to create them perfectly? What if we took structural integrity out of the picture and just played with shapes and colors? We’ll start off looking at various architectural structures from houses and cottages to skyscrapers and individual pieces such as doors, windows and other adornments. Then we’ll construct our own skylines and neighborhoods using a variety of collage elements. We’ll also discuss how to use these as prompts to go even deeper with your creativity by considering things such as who lives in our villages, names of buildings, or other details to inspire further curious exploration.

Supplies to bring:

  • A journal or sketchbook
  • Various collage materials
  • Scissors
  • Glue stick or adhesive
  • Any supplies you’d like to use for details (pens, markers, etc.)

Some shared supplies will be available for class use.

Classes have a limited space available and some fill quickly. Decisions about whether to cancel a class or add another session are typically made one week prior to the start of a class. If a class you are interested in is full we will have a waiting list and will contact you if a space opens up. If a class is cancelled due to low enrollment (fewer than 4 registrations) all registrations will be promptly refunded.

Ticket Instruction: You must choose a quantity to activate “get tickets”. To pay for a class registration with a Wet Paint gift card, please call 651-698-6431

Molly Anthony is a writer and mixed-media artist and is also the co-facilitator for the MN Visual Journal Collective (a free monthly group for artists of all mediums hosted by Wet Paint). She loves exploring art in all forms and sharing her ideas with others, but through the pandemic and family struggles she learned the importance of using those practices for self-care. In her work and her teachings, she strives to embrace imperfection, focuses on process over product and is constantly looking for new ways to be curious about the world around her. You can find her artwork on Instagram at @mkranthony and on her website TheFoundArtWalk.com.
