A little bit about the group:
P.E.N.S. (Pen Enthusiasts Northern Society), formerly the Minnesota Pen Club, is a long-standing Vintage Fountain Pen collectors’ group, based in the cities of Minneapolis/St. Paul, Minnesota. Its goal is to grow and educate a younger generation of pen collectors who are more aware of writing with fountain pens, their history and legacy.
At each of our monthly meetings, we usually have a presentation by members in their area of expertise, including pen repairs or history of specific pen manufacturers. We have also invited outside speakers including Michel Fultz, Susan Wirth, Pier Gustafson, and Lynn Sorgast. We publish a four-page monthly newsletter to our mailing list and on our website.
The origins of the current Minnesota Pen Club can be traced back to the mid 1980’s in Minneapolis. At the time there was still at least a cigar box or more of vintage fountain pens to be discovered in area antique stores and there were several stationary stores in the Twin Cities area that still had pen counters.
Wet Paint Artists’ Materials’ growing selection of pens, inks and accessories for fine writing, fills the niche today!
