New Priorities? Organizational Journaling to Stay on Course taught by Deb Schanilec
August 5, 2021 @ 7:30 pm – 9:00 pm CDT
Multi-Session ClassThursdays, August 5+12 from 7:30-8:45/9pm CT
Realizing who and what is important…one of the outcomes of our lives changing forever in 2020.
Keep those priorities front and center; dedicate some time to setting up an Organizational Journal (OJO) now as you shift into wherever life takes you going forward.
Organizational Journaling can help you intentionally craft the less cluttered, more focused and actively creative life we all strive for. Because there’s more to living well than checklists and a blur of activity, OJOs are a container for limitless combinations of art making, all types of journaling as well as organizational techniques. This non-pre-printed planner allows you to experiment while it works the way your brain works, and not the other way around.
The first session of the class will be a slidestack presentation of the components of an OJO along with real-life examples to inspire what might serve your purposes. In the week between session 1 and 2, give yourself permission to play around with at least one of those ideas. Bring what you tried–no matter the result–to the open-ended second session, with your questions and insights. Sharing with the group is so helpful to everyone, so don’t be shy!
While reflective journaling can certainly be included in your working OJO, the class does not cover this practice. Any size notebook is fine: one you already have, pick one up from the store, or practice first on sheets of paper, totally up to you. The sessions will be recorded so you can watch them again for a couple of weeks and you will receive a copy of the slidestack, as well as a handout to print, take notes and/or follow along, if that is useful to you. See you then!
