Join botanical watercolor artist Cris Godoy for a fun, supportive, and creativity-boosting 5-hour intensive workshop exploring the basics of watercolor — through the vibrant beauty of tropical plants!
Perfect for beginners or anyone looking to revisit the foundations, this one-day class focuses on essential watercolor techniques using bold botanical subjects.

What to Expect
This is a relaxed, hands-on workshop where you’ll complete a stylized botanical watercolor painting — even if it’s your very first time holding a brush!
You’ll be introduced to botanical watercolor techniques in a welcoming, encouraging environment, with plenty of room for personal expression. It’s not about perfection — it’s about playing, learning, and building confidence with your materials.
You’ll learn how to:
• Create smooth washes and layered watercolor effects
• Use wet-on-wet vs. wet-on-dry techniques
• Develop brush control and expressive strokes
• Understand basic drawing and composition (no need to be “good at drawing”!)
• Complete a finished botanical painting in just one session
Materials are not included. A detailed supply list will be provided to registrants. Watercolors: You will need a split primary palette -Warm + Cool, (plus Earths), Hot pressed Watercolor Paper, and watercolor brushes(large round and 3/4″ flat).
There is a Saturday session which covers the same core skills, with a different tropical flower as inspiration — sign up for one or both!

Classes have a limited space available and some fill quickly. Decisions about whether to cancel a class or add another session are typically made one week prior to the start of a class. If a class you are interested in is full we will have a waiting list and will contact you if a space opens up. If a class is cancelled due to low enrollment (fewer than 4 registrations) all registrations will be promptly refunded.
