Neocolor II: Water Soluble Crayons taught by Liz Carlson
October 10 @ 10:30 am – 12:30 pm CDT
Tweens and Teens are welcome in this class!
What are watercolor crayons? Are they for kids? Artists? Yes! They’re for everyone!
This is a very versatile medium, perfect for the artist on the go, the visual journal keeper and the mixed media maker.
In this class you have the chance to experience this amazing Caran d’Ache product in two similar yet different styles. On a bright white sheet of paper you learn how to achieve a transparent watercolor look. Next, on toned paper you enjoy the contrast of bold, thicker layers of color against a warm brown background. Liz loves this look for her food and nature art!
Materials list (all items are available at Wet Paint)
One sheet of Kraft Toned Stonehenge paper and One sheet of White Stonehenge paper (or a watercolor paper 140# or heavier, soft press or cold press (or try hot press, why not?) Sold in various sized pads too: 9×12 kraft, 9×12 white.
Cut your paper to workable sizes so you have enough for warmups and testing and final work!
