Mindful Drawing Using Seed Pods and Lichen as Inspiration taught by Molly Anthony

October 25 @ 10:00 am 1:00 pm

$50.00

IN PERSON

The act of slowly putting pen to paper not only gently stirs our imagination, but also helps to calm our bodies and minds. We’ll not only be using the unique shapes and colors of seed pods and lichen as inspiration for these drawings, but we’ll also explore a bit of their stories to make meaningful and thought-provoking connections. These drawings will be slow, mindful and relaxing and are not meant to be perfect. We’ll also work with adding color to our drawings using watercolors, markers and other water-soluble supplies. In addition to discussing how to use these drawings in your other work, we’ll also talk about how to incorporate a mindful drawing practice into your everyday life for moments of calm and quiet.

Supplies to bring:

  • A sketchbook or pad of watercolor paper
  • A drawing pen (preferably waterproof)
  • Something to add color (watercolors, markers, colored pencils, or a combination of these supplies)

Some shared supplies will be available for use in class.

Classes have a limited space available and some fill quickly. Decisions about whether to cancel a class or add another session are typically made one week prior to the start of a class. If a class you are interested in is full we will have a waiting list and will contact you if a space opens up. If a class is cancelled due to low enrollment (fewer than 4 registrations) all registrations will be promptly refunded.

Ticket Instruction: You must choose a quantity to activate “get tickets”. To pay for a class registration with a Wet Paint gift card, please call 651-698-6431

Molly Anthony is a writer and mixed-media artist and is also the co-facilitator for the MN Visual Journal Collective (a free monthly group for artists of all mediums hosted by Wet Paint). She loves exploring art in all forms and sharing her ideas with others, but through the pandemic and family struggles she learned the importance of using those practices for self-care. In her work and her teachings, she strives to embrace imperfection, focuses on process over product and is constantly looking for new ways to be curious about the world around her.
