IN PERSON CLASS

Wet Paint offers a series of simple, open ended art classes designed for children 2-6 years old with adult taught by early childhood art specialist, Ellen Ferrari.  Each class will focus on one art making process.  Ellen will use examples of artwork by iconic artists to make connections to professional artists who use these processes and introduce basic concepts, materials and terms.  All materials provided (real artists’ paper, ink, paints and tools!) for several projects in each class.

Each class in this summer themed series will be offered both during the week of June 20-24 as well as one Saturday morning over the course of the summer. Each class sold separately.

THIS CLASS: LAKE/GYOTAKU (Japanese Fish Printing) 8/6/22

Catch some fish at the lake with gyotaku – Japanese fish printing.  View the art of Joe Higgins, Doug Olander, and the children of Japan and Bristol Bay, Alaska.  Then use newsprint, construction and tissue papers, paint and brushes, and a variety of rubber fish – from small drum to large walleye – to print your own gyotaku.
