Inspired by Eric Carle: Collage for Ages 7-10 with Adult taught by Terri Colamatteo

Create a Magical Garden Collage with birds, butterflies and bees to Celebrate Spring and Mother’s Day!

Eric Carle decorated his own paper that he used in the collages for his famous children’s books. Together, we’ll create a whole load of painted papers that we’ll use to create cut paper spring collages. You’ll have plenty left to create more collages at home!

Next class for ages 7-10: David Hockney Pool Party! taught by Terri Colamatteo Saturday, June 29th from 3-4:30pm

Terri’s background in the arts comes from a love of textiles.

She holds a BFA from UW-River Falls with a major in Fiber Arts, and a minor in Art History. She went on to a textile conservation internship at the Smithsonian Institution under the textile conservation department with the pre-Columbian archaeological textile collection at The National Museum of Natural History and employment at Textile International Gallery in Minneapolis. 

After her museum and gallery experience, Terri received a degree in art education from UW-Madison. She has taught PK-12th grade visual art for 28 years both in Wisconsin and Minnesota.  She has expertise in teaching painting, drawing, sculpture, 35mm black and white photography, fiber arts, and 2D/3D Design. She recently retired from teaching PK-5th grade for 8 years at Cherokee Heights Elementary in St.Paul.

Today, her personal focus is on Japanese shibori techniques and indigo. Terri also draws and dabbles in painting when she finds more time. She is married to Karl with 2 daughters in their 30’s and about to be a grandmother for the first time.
