Impasto Flowers in Acrylic taught by Jana Komaritsa

VIRTUAL CLASS 11am-1pm Central Time

In this class we will create a beautiful painting, using impasto technique, acrylic paints and palette knife. The main characteristics of these techniques are that the paint is applied thickly, so that the strokes and textures become visible. This creates an effect of sculptural volume, similar to bas-relief. Our experienced artist and instructor Jana Komaritsa will tell you everything about the materials for painting, will show the basic principles of mixing and applying paints and guide you through all the main stages of creating an impasto painting. No experience required. 

Material list for acrylic painting 

·       Acrylic paints (at least a set of basic colors).

·       Canvas panel or stretched canvas (8×10’’ or bigger)

·       Standard set of brushes (pointed round (4-10), flat or bright or filbert (8-12 or larger), detail round (1-2)

·       Palette (either plastic or paper palette (special for painting).

·       Water container

·       Rag or paper towel

·       Easel or drawing board (if needed)

·       Any pencil and eraser

·      Paper towels or cloth

PLUS:

PALETTE KNIFE. only 1 medium sized is needed. You may have other sizes for more variety of marks.

Classes have a limited space available and some fill quickly. Decisions about whether to cancel a class or add another session are typically made one week prior to the start of a class. If a class you are interested in is full we will have a waiting list and will contact you if a space opens up. If a class is cancelled due to low enrollment (fewer than 4 registrations) all registrations will be promptly refunded.
