Image Transfers, Mixed Media, and Collage class taught by Bonnie Cutts
December 12 @ 10:00 am – 4:00 pm CST
Join us for the day and learn a variety of techniques for transferring laser copies of images into wet acrylic materials and integrate them into your collages for fun, expressive personal statements. See what interesting effects you can achieve when using the transferred images along with paper collage, patterns made with stencils and a variety of acrylic paints, gels and molding pastes. Step-by-step instructions for creating gel ‘skins’ will be presented and you will make some skins. Work with prepared gel skins of transferred facial features and create a whimsical self portrait filled with texture and vibrant color by applying multiple layers of paints and gels. Open to all levels of painting experience.
Bring to class: 3 – gessoed hardboard surfaces up to 9” x 12” each, a variety of synthetic paint brushes, palette knives, scissors, palette for paint, water container, papers for collage, stencils, cotton rags, paper towels, a hair dryer (if you have one) and 3 – black and white High Contrast laser copies of your choice – at least 8.5” x 11” (or use instructor’s).
