Hands-On Color Theory Series: #3 Mix any Color taught by Jinjer Markley

Meets 2Tuesdays, November 30th and December 14th from 4-5pm Central TimeFor students with a basic understanding of the following concepts (in the context of color): hue, value, chroma, high chroma colors, complementary colors. Some experience with your chosen medium.
Mix Any Color is part 3 of Hands-on color Theory Series
What makes certain colors difficult to achieve? How do I mix up the perfect purple? How do I change a color I’ve already got without turning it into mud? Get these questions and more answered in this hands-on practicum on color mixing in a variety of media, including opaque paints such (oils, acrylics and gouache), watercolor, color pencil, and marker. We will learn two approaches to color mixing that will leave you confident that you can mix up any color you need.
This class topics:
The Hue Value Chroma method and the Color Wheel (week one) and The Two Color Method and Relative Color (week two).
Reference documents to print, a short video review/bring students who didn’t take first session up to speed will be emailed to registered students.
Students provide: Printouts of handouts, your own art supplies: any traditional medium, such as: Watercolor, Gouache, Tempera, Acrylic, paint, Oil paint, Color pencil, Chalk pastel, Oil pastel, or Marker. Several small objects with a color you want to copy! Think paper scraps, buttons, a favorite rock, a fresh flower, etc.
