IN PERSON CLASS

For students with a basic understanding of the following concepts (in the context of color): Hue, Value, Chroma.

The Color Wheel is part 2 of the Hands-On Color Theory Series

The color wheel is the artist’s answer to the periodic table: it holds an enormous number of color secrets, and the more you work with it, the more you realize it can tell you. In this hands-on 2 class series, we will take a deep dive into color theory while creating our own beautiful color wheels in any traditional medium. Your color wheel will become one of your favorite studio tools: it will help you choose colors, mix colors accurately, adjust color, and so much more!

Topics in this three session class:

Your Primary Colors and The Color Wheel

Materials: Class fee includes a dot card of 5 gouache colors. Handouts and short video to get caught up if you missed part 1 Demystifying Color will be emailed. Students provide: printouts of handouts, a palette, plate or plastic lid for mixing the provided paints for (week one), a small paintbrush for mixing the supplied paints. You will make your custom color wheel in whichever medium you use most. Your own art supplies for this class.

Next class in this series:
