Taking it Outside: Gestural Watercolor in the landscape taught by Monica Fogg

This one day workshop will explore the richness of fresh, wet watercolor.  The morning starts with a demonstration, followed by exploratory exercises. After a lunch break, there will be guidance toward practice and development of composition.  Expand personal creativity and leave limitations behind!  Perfect for the beginning or intermediate watercolorist.

Bring: picnic lunch, open mind, a sense of adventure, supplies

Prerequisites: NONE. This workshop is very appropriate for first time creators as well as those with previous experience. Each will benefit from individual attention and guidance.

Instructor Bio:

1239781_10200890581283910_1908843354_nMonica Fogg is an artist (watercolor, encaustic, acrylic, woodcut, and lithography) and designer or fabricator (Prince, Lorie Line, Disney, Guthrie Theater, Minnesota History Center and others). She has taught courses in watercolor, drawing, painting, color theory, design, visual studies and art history. She currently teaches in the College of Design at the University of Minnesota.

My personal work is informed and inspired by forms found in nature.I consider and experience the foundations of the earth as symbolic of the ‘grounding’ of spirit. Representation is distilled to form, movement, essence. The process is a dance between concept and emotion.”
