Join Liz for the next installment of illustrative sketching with the New Caran d’Ache NeoArt 6901 lightfast oil and wax pastels! They’re smooth like wax and blend like an oil pastel, perfect for painterly drawing techniques. Explore the color range and application techniques recreating some Fall inspired flora and fauna; mushrooms, crows and Luna moths.
The combination of this rich new medium on Stonehenge Kraft toned paper emphasizes the beautiful colors. Transfer illustrations are included! All levels welcome!
Caran d’Ache NeoArt 6901 come in 48 colors and sets of 12 or 24 .
Supply List:
Caran d’Ache NeoArt 24 set, or individual sticks. Suggested-an additional white or primrose
Graphite Pencil
Toned Paper of your choice, (Stonehenge Kraft, Strathmore Toned Tan or Hahnemuhle Cappucino work great) cut to workable sizes 8×10, 8×8 you’ll want some scrap or extra for practicing blending and swatching colors. Can also use a paper bag for swatches and testing
Paper towel for cleaning pastels
Optional –white gouache for highlights
Classes have a limited space available and some fill quickly. Decisions about whether to cancel a class or add another session are typically made one week prior to the start of a class. If a class you are interested in is full we will have a waiting list and will contact you if a space opens up. If a class is cancelled due to low enrollment (fewer than 4 registrations) all registrations will be promptly refunded.

Liz Carlson is an artist, illustrator and teacher in Saint Paul, Minnesota. She works in a variety of mixed
media ranging from colored pencil to gouache and beyond. After working two decades in the art
materials industry she is an National Certified Art Materials Expert. She loves sharing her
passion for making art with her students of all ages. Her favorite subjects to recreate are food,
pets and then everything else. She shares her artist’s loft home with her husband, a retired chef
