Creativity: Trusted Companion for Life Transitions taught by Tara Tieso

Virtual Event Virtual Event

February 16 @ 10:00 am 12:00 pm

Multi-Session Class

Meets 4 Fridays, February 16-March 8 from 10am-12pm Central Time

VIRTUAL CLASS- Meets via Zoom

Life’s transitions are inevitable and even essential to our personal growth – but they can also be scary, take us by surprise, disrupt our equilibrium, tap our physical and emotional energies, and leave us feeling overwhelmed and even alone. This class will explore how creativity can be our trusted companion through tough times such as illness or injury, divorce, job change, moving, retirement, and aging.

Experimenting with a variety of visual and textual approaches, reflection, and discussion in class, we will consider how creative practices can help us express emotions, find hope, and move through difficult transitions with a greater sense of integrity, purpose, resilience and calm.

We will also explore how to tap into our own creative potential and develop easy and meaningful practices that can be used as tools for self-care and growth.

This class is open to everyone and no prior experience is necessary.

Recommended supplies –

• Medium sized (eg., A4 or A5) sketchbook of your choice, brand new or well used (as long as there are still some pages available to use!) – preferably not spiral-bound.

• A small selection of media you really, really like, and that you can easily use in your sketchbook, such as pens, markers, crayons, paint, pastels, water soluble pencils or graphite, collage supplies, etc. (and these may be things you already have at home! The key decision maker should be that you love whatever you plan to use 🙂)
