CLASS VIA ZOOM

    Join Kathi Hanson as she shares her “Signature Watercolor Pencil Techniques” for creating exciting watercolor art. Learn how to create unique texture patterns using common household items; how to create a paper palette for wet-on-wet paint washes; grate and manipulate pigment particles for instant depth and interest within an area, and so much more. The results are amazing! Hope you can join us, there is something for every level artist in this fun and educational event.

Supply List for Workshop 

1: General Pencil products: Kimberly® Watercolor Pencils (set of 12 or set of 24), Lil Red All Art Sharpener (optional if you already have a sharpener), Sketch & Wash Water-Soluble Graphite Pencil #588, Extra Soft White Vinyl Eraser #ES20(optional). 

2: Silver Brush Limited: Black Velvet #8 round watercolor brush 

3: Watercolor Paper: My preference is Arches 140lb cold press watercolor paper. Make sure you have about six sheets of 11×14 size (you can cut larger sheets into smaller sizes if you want). We will be doing A LOT of exercises, small designs, etc. so make sure you have several sheets /sizes of paper to work on. Also a sheet of 90lb watercolor paper (if you do not have 90lb you can also use a sheet of 140lb watercolor paper). 

4: Misc supplies: Bounty or Viva Paper Towel, plastic wrap, wax paper, Press & Seal (all three items found in the kitchen supplies area of a grocery store), a clear wax crayon or white crayon (optional), A Sanding Paddle (or emery board), spray bottle, stencil design of your choice. 

Kathi Hanson has been teaching workshops across the U.S.A. and Canada 
for the past thirty years. She is known for her vast knowledge of subject matter and unique special effect techniques in multiple mediums. Her workshops are very popular due to her creative, informative, teaching style and the personal attention she gives to each student. 

Kathi has won several awards for her work, has published over 75 art related articles in national art magazines, collaborated/created artwork for several Art Technique books on the market, and has created a variety of instructional painting technique DVD’s available through websites and local art stores. 

For the past seven years Kathi has also spent portion of each year on the road sharing her varied art techniques with college students in Foundations, Sequential, Painting and Illustration departments and conducting district art teacher PD (professional development) workshops.
