A Monthly Series of Book Arts classes taught by Bridget O’Malley
October: Sewn on Straps Binding, and a Simple Pamphlet Stitch Book. The Sewn on Straps binding is an exposed spine binding. This strong and flexible design is suitable for a sketchbook. The pamphlet stitch is the easiest of all sewn structures, One quick set of stitches and your book is done in the blink of an eye!
This is an IN-PERSON indoor class.
In keeping with the standards of other educational settings in our area, we are asking that students and instructors wear masks during in-person classes at Wet Paint. If you are having any COVID or cold-like symptoms even if you have been vaccinated, please do not come to the class. Thanks!

NEXT CLASSES IN THIS SERIES:
Blizzard Book + Blizzard Box November 17(as seen in the “Art of the Fold” by Hedi Kyle. This versatile structure can be made into both a book with pockets for holding business cards or tiny prints, and a collapsible box for containing all your loose bits. These are both folded structures, no glue and no sewing, but so beautiful!
Cross Structure Binding December 8 There are several versions of the Cross- Structure Binding, we’ll start with the basics and talk about ways of upgrading the design once you understand how to work the basic structure. This structure was developed by Carmencho Arregui after studying ancient book structures. There is a similarity to both the LongStitch and Sewn on Straps Bindings that we did in August and October classes.
