Multi-Session Class

Art Exploration – 6-part series Fridays, October 18-November 22 from 10am-1pm
$216.00 Some shared supplies will be available in each class

IN PERSON

Explore your artistic curiosity and dip your toes into many different techniques and media in this six-part series.  We’ll pull inspiration from our imagination and the natural world and combine it with collage, watercolors, drawing techniques and more on this enchanting journey through our sketchbooks and art journals. Our focus will be on creative play and experimentation as we engage with new supplies and look at old ones in a new light. And our goal will be to let go of perfection so we can make room for the amazing discoveries that come through messy exploration.

Week 1: Giving ourselves permission to play – art journaling & keeping a sketchbook

Week 2: Pattern play – making foam stamps and drawing patterns

Week 3:  Exploring collage

Week 4: Watercolors – using geodes, agates, and the moon as our inspiration

Week 5: Creative ways to add words & drawings to our journal pages and sketchbooks

Week 6: Zines

Supply list – some shared supplies will be available in each class:

  • Journal or sketchbook

Molly Anthony is a writer and mixed-media artist and is also the co-facilitator for the MN Visual Journal Collective (a free monthly group for artists of all mediums hosted by Wet Paint). She loves exploring art in all forms and sharing her ideas with others, but through the pandemic and family struggles she learned the importance of using those practices for self-care. In her work and her teachings, she strives to embrace imperfection, focuses on process over product and is constantly looking for new ways to be curious about the world around her. You can find her artwork on Instagram at @mkranthony and on her website TheFoundArtWalk.com.
