This class: Anatomy for Character Design: How to Build your Story’s Character
Struggling to figure out how to draw people? Need a brush-up on your skills? This class offers an in-depth lecture on how to draw human anatomy in a fun, refreshing way to help you better design your characters! In this lesson we will be drawing the very basics: shapes, lines, and then we’ll stack ‘em all together and make a person!

PREFERRED materials are a sketchbook and pencil.

Classes have a limited space available and some fill quickly. Decisions about whether to cancel a class or add another session are typically made one week prior to the start of a class. If a class you are interested in is full we will have a waiting list and will contact you if a space opens up. If a class is cancelled due to low enrollment (fewer than 4 registrations) all registrations will be promptly refunded.

Michael Kay is an artist living in Minneapolis and an enjoyer of all things comics and cartoons! After a life-long obsession with manga, he began publishing his own Dark-Fantasy series “CABARIS” and spends his time creating gothic paintings and illustrations. Michael is passionate about character design and world-building, eager to teach others techniques to help in the creative process.
Michael Kay’s classes offer in-depth lectures and guides on the fundamentals of anatomy, character design, and creating comics. Together we will discuss these concepts and work through the basics and slowly build on each concept in detail, arriving at a stronger sense of creating and developing comics and sequential art.
