Acrylic Painting: In the Style of Gustav Klimt taught by Jana Komaritsa

Gustav Klimt was an Austrian artist, with a unique and recognizable style. He is one of the most well-known contributors to the development of Art Nouveau movement. In this class we will learn about this style and create a painting with acrylics. We will also learn how to apply gold leaf (imitation) which will add extra brilliance to the painting. (Using gold leaf is optional).
We will be painting “The Kiss”. If you would like to paint another painting, please consult with the instructor up to one week before the class.

Ticket Instruction: You must choose a quantity to activate “get tickets”.
List of materials for acrylic classes
1. ACRYLIC PAINTS (Amsterdam Acrylics are economical and good)
At least a basic set of:
White: zinc white or titanium white
Yellow: Primary yellow or Azo yellow medium
Red: Naphthol Red Light or medium
Blue: Prussian blue, or Cobalt, or Phthalo
Green: Permanent Green deep or light
Brown: Raw or burnt umber, or burnt sienna
Black: lamp black
2. CANVAS
Either acrylic primed cardboard canvas panel or acrylic primed stretched canvas. Size examples:
- 8 x 10 inches, 9 x 12 inches, 11×14 inches or 12×16 inches
3. BRUSHES Standard set of brushes
Round (size 4-10), pointed round (size 4-10), detail round (1-2) and Flat or bright or filbert size 8-12 or larger for larger surfaces
5. Optional: Imitation Gold Leaf and Leaf Adhesive (or ModPodge) If not using Imitation Gold Leaf, Metallic Gold paint will be nice. (deep gold or light gold )
6. Palette (either plastic or paper palette (special for painting).
7. Water container
8. Rag or paper towel
9. Easel or drawing board (not necessary, it is possible to paint on the table without easel or board)
10. Pencil and eraser for sketching
