Explore the monotype printmaking process using Wet Paint’s Speedball Etching Press and Professional water-soluble oil inks. Learn about techniques and explore your creativity in this painterly and direct printmaking process. In this 3-hour workshop you will learn various ways to transfer ink to paper including: direct painting; use of brayers, brushes and daubers; working from a light or dark field; using masks and stencils; embossing; and using textures and found objects. The use of the etching press allows for effects very unlike what hand printmaking offers. Come see the possibilities!
The workshop is suited to both beginners and more experienced creators. No prior printmaking experience is needed.
Some paper, ink and materials, aprons and gloves will be supplied. You can purchase additional items at the store. A complete supply list will be provided.

“ My work is always about interpreting from the real world a configuration on paper that brings new perspective to what we experience in life. Currently I’m exploring how textiles and textile related arts can be incorporated into my works on paper. I am applying weaving lines in new ways other than with thread. My compositions often reflect the landscape and other natural scenes.”
