Stab binding has been around for many centuries. It can be used to join single sheets of paper together, or to reinforce individual thin sheets that need the support this structure provides. Many versions are possible, from the classic 4-hole binding to more elaborate patterns such as tortoise shell and flowing river. Each student will make a finished book, as well as a handful of practice sewing cards to learn additional stitches.
