Gelli plate printing is a fun and spontaneous introduction to the art of monoprinting. Students will learn to combine color and texture to build beautiful, one-of-a-kind images. The Gelli surface is especially sensitive and can pick up tiny details in leaves, fabric, cardboard and more. Students will be introduced to the use of stencils to create original designs. You can use this simple technique to add backgrounds to visual journals, create greeting cards, make your own decorative paper for gift wrapping or collage and more.
This artform can be a little messy. Please wear clothes you don’t mind getting stained. Aprons are available in the classroom.
