A to Zäåö: Playing with History at the American Swedish Institute, published by the University of Minnesota Press.
This fun introduction to the Swedish alphabet, a romp from A to Z (and then Å to Ä to Ö), is also a delightful tour of the American Swedish Institute in Minneapolis, a cultural center alive with stories past and present. Artifacts from the museum’s collection are charmingly rendered in watercolor by local artist Tara Sweeney (who teaches watercolor at Wet Paint!) and animated by whimsical pen-and-ink characters by her son, illustrator Nate Christopherson.
Join us for a peek into their collaborative process and have your copy signed by the authors. Books will be available for purchase.
This labor of love has been years in the making and Wet Paint is pleased to have played a part in the process from early MN Originals (TPT) videotaping on location at Wet Paint to consulting on materials for their project.
The book is also the inspiration for the upcoming exhibit extra/ordinary, opening at ASI on February 29, 2020.
